First of all, the wedding tallit in use as a chuppah.
There has been a whole lot going on around here, (not even including the rockets from Iran), so I haven't had the mental focus to post. So, prepare yourself for a hdge-podge of a post.
Here goes:
We have done a few local adventures, including going to Roosevelt Island.
It is nice to get a different perspective of the East River.
After we headed home on the tram we stopped off at a Japanese supermarket, because why not???
I liked howthese frozen treats didn't try to over-promise on their ability to refresh.
I have been threatening to buy these sorts of tiny freeze dried fish for about thirty years. With their little fishy eyes they are about as amusing as edible googly eyes.
to a car rental place a very short walk away.
I did not buy them.
These days the universe seems to agree that the word "moist" is somehow creepy. I guess this beauty product is for the small minority of those who do not.
Last week we rented a car in Ft. Lee, New Jersey. car rentals are MUCH less expensive there. We took a bus from the George Washington Bridge Station.
We walked over the highway
We made a stop at Netcost, the Russian supermarket. The pomegranates were massive. I should have put something in the photo for scale but whatever image is in your head, just assume that these were bigger.
My family is terribly fond of this snack product. We do not know the name. It looks and tastes just like packing peanuts. They are airy and slightly crispy and very bland. I can not account for why we like them so much. Our kids are always delighted when we buy a bag. We will buy them a bag another time.
Earlier this week I accompanied my cousin for some minor surgery. I spent the night with her in Brooklyn and got to witness this sunrise.
Yesterday, my sister and I went to an exhibit at the Cooper-Hewett. Following the precept that if one can't say something nice one shouldn't say anything at all, we loved the airconditioning in the museum.(It was so beastly hot yesterday).
I took a couple of photos of shadows on our walk to the crosstown bus.
Hoping for peace and boring times ahead--
