Manhattanhenge

Today was one of the occurrences of Manhattanhenge, a day when the sunset lines up with the grid of the city streets to create something that nudges you out of your usual understanding of the city.

Tonight I happened to be walking home from Times Square, The magic of the evening didn't make itself felt until I had reached Columbus Circle.

I was not the only person who stipped in the middle of the intersection to take photos.

Some intersections didn't afford such a good view of the setting sun.

At Lincoln Center illuminated billboards contrasted nicely with the setting sun.
