This spring I did a tallit making workshop at my synagogue, Ansche Chesed, in Manhattan. Participants studied texts about tallit, and then chose text for their neckbands and corner pieces. The students selected silk and painted their neckbands.The tallitot will then be constructed. We will come together to tie the tzitzit. These photos are from Miriam's atara/neckband and pinot/ corner pieces.
The text reads " And I will place my name on the children of Israel, and I will bless them." The calligraphy is mine, Miriam then outlined the letters in dye.
